If I run my water through my RO/DI and store it in a container, how long is that water good for before it become contaminated or I need to mix it with salt?

Thanks

From what I have read from others on this board you can keep it for 3 months if you put some air line tube and keep it oxygenated.

I myself have never tried to keep water longer than 2 weeks.

you really don't need to aerate it - just keep it sealed up tight. as long as your container is free of contaminants you're fine indefinitely. you'll aerate it overnight when you mix in the salt

I make mine in basically 2 week portions, but I keep a pump in the tank to keep the water circulating.

Also you will want to make sure the container is either HDPE or LDPE grade material. It's the recylcing code on the bottom on the bottom of the container. I forget what the exact code # is though. As other containers have been know to leach phosphates back into the water.

I use a 44g Rubbermaid BRUTE container that I picked up at the local Lowe's.

It will keep indefinitely if it is kept sealed. I would not recommend aerating it as that adds contaminants back into the water. When you make the saltwater only aerate it at that time.
