Reverse Prism Ridge Growth?

I was curious if anyone knows what this may be. In the bottom left ridge of the prism there is a growth that has protruded through it. This has just shown up in the last week or so. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Just looks like an odd growth of the coral.... sometimes corals just get odd stuff growing out of em... like a goiter

I have a favia that has a huge bubble on one side. It inflates during the day and deflates at night.

No idea if these things are water quality, flow related or just a case of something growing out oddly, like scar tissue or something.

Would this grow through the coral? Any way to remove it?

You can probably remove it with tweezers, just use care not to mutilate the coral tissue in the process.

just crush the shell of the vermetid with tweezers
