review of the reefoptics 20k

Guys the reefoptics ebay bulb is incredible. For 30 bucks is it blowing the XM 20k away by a long shot.

YES it is nice and blue, I think its even bluer than the 20k XM but is much brighter ... the color really pop with this bulb. I turned off my actinics and the xm 20k looks very dull compared to this bulb

Weston is the guy that's selling these bulbs on ebay, he is busy and havent list any on there, but if you guys want to get some here is the info, just tell them that you are from northcoast-reefer and Tom sent you

he has reefoptics 10k, 14k, and 20k. I've heard the 14k is very nice too just read through the thread above and look at some of the pix.

As for ballast, these will be very nice on icecap since that is what am using and its lighting up just fine.

I have been real happy with my ICE CAP ballasts and have planned on sticking with them.

I'm using an icecap with reeflux 12k's. not a bad bulb but i want something bluer. tom, do you think it's worth a shot to order one?

Hiep lets put it this way, I just ordered 2 more it is just like the XM20k color wise but brighter and more flourescent. Plus its only 30 bucks

WEll, the guy that was selling reefoptics hasnt reply to my email so I went ahead and bought a bulb from a different ebay vendor "greatdel" (I won it for $13.55 plud $10 shipping) when I get it I will run it side by side with the reefoptics and will let you guys know if its the same bulb. From the look of it though it looks like the same bulb.

As for the reefoptics, its still bright but not quite as blue as it was originally. Still blue but not quite like the xm20k but over all its brighter then the xm20k. I like it better than the xm20k through, the corals seems to flourescent better under it.
