not really unless the tank is drilled.

just to let everyone know we are now raising live mysis shrimp, they are 25 for $5.00. we are also raising copepods, rotifers, and phytoplankton. over the next few months we will be looking at setting up in house coral propagation & fish breeding. will keep you posted on our progress.

hey if anybody has any extra rolls of chicken wire lying around & would be willing to donate it. we could sure use to help finish off our walls. will be hanging vines on it to make the place look like a rainforest.

Thanks,
Jeff Irons

I'm just jumping in to say I think this is a great idea to review LFS's. I'd love a forum dedicated to this so that I could check up on new places in my area so that I would be able to not waste a trip to them if they weren't worth it.

hey chris,
would you be interested in doing a layout for a membership form? it needs to a 3-fold brochure, with a space on the back for the stores name, and info on the oms with space for member info.

Jeff,

What time did the shipment come in? I was in early afternoon and got a long nose hawk...did it come in after 2:00 or was the shipment already there by then?

I think you are doing a great job with your store and doing a lot of things that will bring me back like offering live foods for sale. The manager (sorry can't remeber his name) and Dave are always very nice to my family and very knowledgable.

On another thread this week you asked about some things that would help improve you store. One things that I would suggest is that you get more light on your fish tanks. Maybe there is a reason for not having very much light but it seems like I'm always struggling to get a good look in the tanks.

One other thing I would like to see is a store that has inventory of uncommon fish and coral. For example the things that you have in your display tanks that you won't sell like the purple feather duster, coco worms or the colorful zooanthids. I know some of these things may be more expensive but when many of us already have thousands invested in equipment and livestock I would rather add an $80.00 colony of a colorful zoas rather than the $40.00 colonies of common green zoas that always seem to be in the local stores.

No it came in after 2:00. Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad to hear my staff is treating you well. Their names are Joe, Dave, Anthony, & Trace. I am glad to have such a dedicated & knowledgable crew. We do plan on putting lights up over our tanks, but I have not decided on what type of fixtures yet & I don't want to go cheap. So our budget is a factor also. Time is yet another factor, as I am doing all the construction on my own. I have been working my way around the store on a daily basis. At the moment I am working on finishing the bird display & the bookstore. Still a ways off from turning this place into a tropical rainforest, but it is starting to come together. As far as our corals go, the colorful ones in the display came from one of my guys tank that he had for 6-7 years. I haven't seen those around for a while. However when we get our coral propagation lab setup we will try to start our own unique colonies, to sell. We will continue to bring in more & more exotic creatures as our budget & sales increase.
Our first year is now under our belt & we are still growing. I want to personally thank all of YOU our customers for supporting us throughout the year. We will continue to strive to make this place YOUR #1 store.

Again thank you for a wonderfull first year,

Paradise Cove Pets

I could try to come up with something. Let me know what kind of info and everything, and whatever ideas you have as far as the look.

It is a really great store and I hope they open their location out west soon! I hate driving al the way to bellevue but it's worth it.
