Reyes ready to go in Series opener???

Into the 7th and who would have thunk it, Reyes is throwing a heck of a game. If we did that to their Ace and us with our 4 spot, We might wrap this up in the STL.

Don't jinx us with that mojo!!!

Prediction The Detroit Tigers' biggest obstacle to a championship will be keeping a straight face. The Tigers in three. (OK, make it four.)

For those of you who did not see the USA Today Article. I have to agree, at this point it is hard to keep a straight face when you are getting a red bird tatooed to your glut max.

I dreaming because we are just plain ol spanking them  Reyes keeps serving them #r@p! I am amazed :D

Reyes must be wearing his lucky socks tonight. Anybody count how many pop flies he has served up?

Here is the quote with the scouts report:

Prediction The Detroit Tigers' biggest obstacle to a championship will be keeping a straight face. The Tigers in three. (OK, make it four.) Scout's take: "To me, the National League doesn't have a prayer. The Tigers are hot, exquisitely managed and have the home-field advantage.
"The biggest thing to me is the adjustment they made in the last month. They were a free-swinging, hacking club, striking out and not walking. But all of a sudden they're a much more patient team."

Ummmmm...........................right.

Was that from Keith Law? He hates the cardinals and it's obvious.

But I've always said to myself. "If Reyes could ever control his pitch count he could be a factor."

Well, he finally controlled it and he was a factor.

1 down, 3 to go.

sweet night to watch a little baseball reyes pitched the game of his life finaly got away from the change up and started beating them with the gas. we need to steal on fron "the Gmbler" tommarrow.

go cards

whoa panaboy.

His changeup is by far his best pitch.

What he finally got to do was NOT throw the 2 seamer. Duncan/Larussa want him to throw the 2 seamer so he can pitch to contact. In turn it should force more groundballs and allow him to keep his pitchcount down. but he's just never grasped that pitch. Today he stuck more with the 4 seamer and changeup.

I think Rolen should sign up for roller derby, because he likes to plow people down! what a way to score a run

bats were alive tonight

I realize that technically the tigers have home field advantage but when they go 2-3-2 I think that puts the disadvantaged team at an advantage

just like the cards here...all they had to do was steal 1 in detroit and now they have 3 straight home games to finish them off (not even thinking about tomorrow's game in D town)

I think the cards let them know they are here to play

I think the Tiger's did a great job of keeping a straight face...lets give them a big hand :wavehand:

the straight change is what he got shelled by in the first inning and the other day agaist the mets. it may be a good pitch but he has to use it less. the off speed breaking ball is a diffrent story. but hitters are teeing off on his straight change up.

I missed the first inning. So I didn't see their first two hits.

But from past starts I've watched. His changeup is just down right nasty.

i think the players have been told about it and are expecting it and then are drilling it. but who cares he was down right nasty tonight. we need to ride weaver for another win tom. roger's breaking ball has been down right dirty in the playoffs. this next one may be a good pitchers dual.

Right before the American Idol commercial during the game, Fox flashed a big, orange "7th Inning Stretch" graphic on the screen for just a moment.... At the top of the graphic, it said....

Mets vs Tigers
