Very nice specimen....don't know which type. I wouldn't buy it unless it was eating prepared/frozen foods. They're just too tough to switch over. I'd say $250 -300 would be a good price.
Agreed- its a beautiful R frondosa.
Price range- is whatever the market can bare.
Just a few yrs ago these fish were costing upwards of a grand. Now ive seen them anywhere from $300-800 depending on color
I would say snag it. 100 for a 2-500 dollar fish is a steal. Even if the worst would happen and you lost it, much cheaper practice then a 400 dollar one.
If you are buying that fish from SUM in Toronto then make sure it eats. Yes a $100 is a good deal, but it won't feel so good if you loose the fish to starvation.
Yes it was at SUM. Unfortunately, I could not make the trip down today. But I'm hearing that this is a hard offer to turn down, if it's still there tomorrow, I will see how it is.
As mentioned, $100 is dirt cheap for that fish, so I'd snag it as well. If it looks at live food, then it's probably OK, but I would definitely go into it with the thought of weaning it, so if you don't mind doing that, go for it.
