hi everyone!question:how do these ro/di water systems work is it hooked up to your tank or is there ones that hook up to your sink?
I have well water does that matter any?
i have some lights coming,a sea clone protein skimmer scps 100(anybody know of this brand???),and a powerhead.
i am trying slowly to get this going and understanding all the advice you guys add.patience,patience,patience.
thanks lou

An ro/di will hook up to your fresh water supply, common locations are under sink, or tapping a washer outlet.

Well water might make a difference dependent on how your water pressure is, get a pressure gauge with the ro/di, if it is low a booster pump might be needed, if your water pressure is decent (40 - 60 psi) this is not needed.

Lets see.. running an aquac Urchin pro with a mag 3 pump (I could use, and do want a beefier skimmer, but it gets the job done decently), phosban reactor fed by a maxjet 600, both in a sump under the stand, a little giant 2-mdq-sc is for the sump return/overflow loop, and gives me about 400 gph through the sump. I also have a pair of holes with 1" bulkeads in the back of the tank that feeds another pump (little giant 4-mdq-sc) which is for my closed loop manifold (10 outlets along the top perimeter of the tank), this pump gives me ~850 GPH, a few strategically placed maxijets in the tank for dead spots completes my flow giving me ~30X tank volume turnover an hour.

The lighting is (4) 54 watt T-5 bulbs powered by an icecap 660 ballast.

it works good for me, I get plenty of flow, no issues with the light (fans cope with heating issues), I have done a ton of customization on my tank though, so there is a lot i am leaving out such as my overflow/refugium set up, but that is the basic equipment list for you.
