Ricordea budding

I haven't been keeping Ricordia for long so maybe this is common-enough but it was new to me...

Yesterday I superglued a small Ricordia florida by the tiny stone it was attached to onto a larger stone. Tonight I noticed this tiny little blob hanging off the side - apparently it's a tiny little new Ric. :)

Just thought I'd share a photo:

Very cool shot. I know some people will speed up the propagation process by letting gravity do some of the work by stretching the polyps out and forcing a split.

In this case it was quite accidental. I had no idea there was a mini-Ric there.

The parent is not much more than 1/2" across and was attached to a very small bit of stone. The bud must have been attached to an even smaller bit of adjacent stone or maybe that was part of the main stone that broke free when I glued it onto the new larger rock.

In any case the baby (about 1/8") broke free overnight and is now glued to a bigger chunk of rock of its own.
