ricordea colors under normal light

I really like ricordea picture / video i found over internet, but are all under blue light

i would like to get a blue one but online shop ( also in some store ) seems that they like to keep only under blue lights

what do orange, blue and colorful ricordea looks under "standard" 10.000 - 15.000 K leds?

Well the actinic blue light really bring out the neon colors you see, ,most coral look rather dull under regular 10000k with no blue light

I know but i doubt that most people use 80% - 100% actinic in their tank

when i buy online I need to know what is the real color of what i'm buying

And I have read that corals need blue wavelength to grow , not necessarily actinic blue, but that could also be debated im sure

That's all corals now a days, everything is shot blasted under blue LEDs , reef brights, all blue light to make the colors pop due to atinic.

When I buy corals online I try not to buy from Etailers using crazy lighting, sketchy presentation of corals to make them look brighter than what they really are. I buy them for the potential to what I think they will look like under my lighting scheme not what people are posting them on what they look as. Case in point on my avatar, the mushroom there I took when I first got it, I had to dial down the lights to light acclimate them. With my lights back to normal specs they don't look like that.

the strange thing is that over internet i can't find any blu, orange, red ricordea photo under standard lighting

today i got my "blue" ricordea, not sure if is wash away for shipping but i can't really see the blu spots

The blue will probably only show up under atinic(blue) lighting. Most corals don't have that color "pop" unless their under blue lights. Case in point, my orange ricordia is a pale brown under normal lighting, but is a nice flame orange under atinics. And yes most of us run more blue then white for that reason. There is also studies to prove that light in the blue spectrum aids in photosynthesis more then any other light spectrum.

if you look at your tanks light color is like moonlight?
I also have blu led and dimmer able white and blue channel
is i use 100% blue and 100% white you can really tel that light color is very cold, and ricordea color and not even close to pictures i see on internet
to get that color i would need to lower the white but i would get kind a moonlight effect in my tank

I'm looking for bright colored ricordea too and this ebay seller seems to have accurate photos, I've bought three so far and they all look 90% like the pix after a week of acclimating to my tank.

There is almost every color in my pic. Can't get good pics on phone under blue light but you can see some of the glow

Yeah, clearly that's using all blue and taking pic from above
I do like my lights on the blue side but not all blue. I bet you could add some royal blue led and get a lot more color from the ric and still like the color of the full tank. Even just a moon light strip would help

Does that help? Complete spectrum LED (~12k). It is possible to have corals 'pop' as well as display their non fluorescent pigments, too.
