Here are some pictures from the wild. These may help you a bit.
Good Luck.

Absolutely beautiful serdar. I love pics like that. It is exactly the look I was going for. Unfortunately, I haven't found any rics that green. I really like the brain coral in that pic also. It is too bad we can't get atlantic species like that, but it is for the better.

This tank will take me a while to get going. I want to do it slow so that everything is just how I want it. I will keep you updated though.

Nice pics, and nice tank. I would suggest adding some halimedia. I see lots of that whenever I go diving in the Keys, and it'll do (some) nutritional uptake as well. Looks cool too.

Maybe check out some of the yellow corris wrasses, as I see those frequently while diving. Last time I went diving off a beach I was followed by a school of cool looking triggers who were WAY too big to put in my 120g tank. It was awesome, except I was worried about them biting my fingertips since I know that Triggers are infamous biters.

Oh, and Arrow crabs are cool and indiginous as well.

Not much help, but hope it helped a bit.

drawman,

Keep in mind that stony corals can be collected as long as they grow on aquacultured rock. I got this nice Manicina (I think) on a piece of rock that I bought for my seagrass tank:

Lancer99,
That is a great find! Where did you get your rock from? That is going to be one of my toughest decisions on this tank setup. I want to get rock from florida so that I can get microinverts that are typical of the region. The only places that I have seen that sell aquacultured florida live rock is tampabay saltwater and sealifeinc.net. I'm not really sure where they grow out this rock but it is probably my best bet.

drawman,

I'm lucky to have a reasonably-close LFS (www.seasave.net) that sells aquacultured FL LR. I've heard good things about both tampabay's and sealifeinc's LR. Reeftopia also sells cheap LR but I haven't heard any opinions on it (and from the photos on their site, it doesn't look too impressive, although they're great for everything else).

At this point I am leaning towards sealifeinc's. I thought it looked good from the pics. Anyone else get rock from them?

I got 90 pounds from Sealifeinc. Loaded with weird stuff. You can request different shapes and sizes as well.
