So I just got a nice rock of ricordea (florida, 20-30 mouths total) about two weeks ago and places it on the bottom of my 20 gallon. Lighting is just two 65 watt PCs, SG is around 1.025, haven't been able to test ph recently because I was out of test kits but I use reverse lighting on my fuge so I think it should be pretty stable. I also got one yuma the day before and it has been open and doing great since.
I just bought a new, high quality thermometer and saw my temps were a bit higher than I thought (hitting low 80s sometimes) because all my other corals (lots of Montipora, several mushrooms, zoas, acro) are doing fine.
Anyway, the floridas did alright the first few days and then they all started to cup a bit. I thought it might have been because the flow was too high, so I moved the rock a bit but after a few more days the heads were still cupped shape.
This past weekend my family and I moved across country and I'm sure that added plenty of stress to the corals. After 24 hours however almost every coral is doing fine except for the Ricordia florida. The yuma is thriving which confuses me since I had assumed it to be the one that would have trouble with the move. The temps are still a bit high sometimes due to an ac problem but ate definitely a few degrees cooler than they were before. While a few of the ricordea have opened up more, some are shriveled up and I would like to figure out why. Currently don't have much Internet access so I'm typing this from my phone and can't post any pictures but will do so the moment I can.
Thanks in advance for your help.
