Ricordea good starter coral???

as long as you have sufficiant light i dont see a prob with shrooms,zoas,some leathers. be carefull what you stock your tank with and have an idea what you want for the finished product. i wish i woulda never put shrooms,kenya tree,zenyas, and some of the other starters.

That ^^^ said, I would aim towards some of the more colorful morphs. Ric's don't spread as fast as, say rhodactis do for me though, so you should be ok.

I dont' really havea "fantasy" finished product. It's all an experiment, a really expensive, labor intensive, experiement, LOL!
I just now that I want to add a little color, texture and interest....
I don't want to go hog wild with the corals........
I don't wnat or have Metal Halides, so we're thinking lower light and easy!

good point, i overlooked that. i relly meant the more common shrooms.

Ricordea florida are a lot hardier and easier for a beginner than Ricordea yuma. Even experienced keepers sometimes have yumas melt away for no reason, and of course, they're a lot more expensive than the floridas.

Yes, they are the toppermost of the poppermost, but everything is in the eyes of the beholder. Check out the Collorimorpharian forum and some of those selections, like currentking's; you'll be salivating and lusting in no time. Namaste
