Ricordia help

Hello friends.

The other morning I awoke to find my Rics in trouble (I think). There are 2 on a small piece of rock, both of them had this white mushy stuff around the stalks. (There is another type of Ric about an inch away with no problems.)

I used my turkey baster and blew it all away, I moved the small rock to a higher location that has more water movement. Mind you, this is a 10 gallon that has been set up for many years now. Lighting is only 36 watts of compact florescents. Water flow consists of the MaxiJet 1200 that operates my Remora skimmer and an Aquaclear Mini that was left over from my fresh water days for extra flow.

After two days in their new location the Ricordias look shrunken and withdrawn (can't come up with good words tonight). I just noticed now the slime has returned.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Pete

sounds like it may be meltiing..... did you just buy this coral?

No, I have had it for about a year. Today when I blew the cr*p off, I noticed the internal (green) algae stuck in the stuff.

I'll try to post a pic soon.
