ricordia question

Discdogge

New member
I tried to find info on placement of my new ricordia frag, but I couldnt find much.

Can they go in the sand? Should they go on a rock? If on rubble, can they still grow larger than the rock it's on?

Also, one site I found said not to place them by the zoa's...but I want to eventually end up with a tank like this:

Can they be placed together?

Also, if one particular color zoo polyp is surrounding by others, can it still spread? I have one super bright green polyp surrounding by dull purple zoos, I really want the green to spread.

TIA for anyone's help

Linn

I have a guy in tampa who runs a mail order for hard to find color zoos. if you want his info pm me w/ an email address and I will fwd this months advertisement. Lots of good pics on it.

i have found that keeping zoos together keeps them from spreading. to get them to spread keep them next to bare LR

Ricordia goes on a rock in low flow area w/ mod light

Ricordia can extend and cover zoos so maybe not to close to zoos

You might get better advice from bennihanna or mbdave.

ben knows alot about this stuff IMO

Mbdave ID'ed a clown that I have, over the phone with in minutes. I have been trying to ID it for a while, It turns out to be quite a hard species to find at the LFS and I got it at aquascrew of all places

I'm able to keep ricordia and also have a Mag 36 on the return as well as 2 6100 streams. Lots of water movement going on. Lighting is 2 400 watt MH. Some of the ricordia is in the middle "layer" of the tank and some higher up. I have no problems with them.

btw: all are on live rock. I don't have any in the sand, but that is only because one of my gobies will cover most anything with sand that is small and on the bottom.
