Thanks.As far as the success,i think daily,obsessive observation , extremely stable parameters and weekly 25 % water changes with parameter matched sea water mixed with 0 TDS RODI and a efficient skimmer is probably the school of thought i follow.I have been back and forth between bare bottom and sand a half dozen times and i am not sure at this point which is better if either is.i currently run a sand bed.I dont have a lot of equiptment pics but i will post what i have anyway.Thanks again

I could have swore you HAD sand in the bottom when I took the pics.. but the last time I came over before that... you had NO sand...??? How much was I smoking??? or is this true?? lol

Thanks Mike,some of the products from reef speciality are incorporated into this set up and working great as you already know.

Your right Jon,i was running it bare bottom up until about 3 months ago.I added some live sand to try and bump my nitrates down a bit and also give my clams something a bit more natural to sit on.

thanks,the big colonies i have had some for more than 12 years.a few others not quite so long.the ORA stuff i just started collecting within the last 2 years
