Nice, Are you going to start a build in the large reef tanks?

Did you say RIMLESS?? I will let you guess that one!

60 X 28 X 22. No starphire.

And I still prefer glass over acrylic, does not scratch easily.
When the tank finally comes it may take me a wk or so to plumb everything and set up. By then the silicone should be fully cured.
Pics to follow soon..

Thanks guys! I have change the size to 48'' x 30'' x 20'' Im going to call GC's Monday and get a quote for a built tank. I am a very DIY type person, and I like to say "I built this" LOL! Thanks for the tips!

Not so sure I have the time. Spring is quite busy and I need to make hay while the sun shines! To pay for the reef, you know.
I will take some shots though while the whole thing is coming together.

I have lost a lot of corals (80 percent) due to a couple of things,
Regal Tang and Blueface Angel chewing on them. Then there's error on my part with Vodka dosing.

So, opportunity to invest on ones I really like now. No more beginner SPS.

Should I use all the old water, or can I use just 50 percent??

Just add an extra foot on the length, then you're all set! Not that much more.

You think I should go 5ft? The tank wouldnt be that Much more, but being that long I would need to put 3 MH's over it to get the best coverage. Plus I really dont have the extra room right now. Im sure i will kick myself later! LOL!

Does anyone know if the silicone of these tanks might weaken within 5 or more years? I just got a Miracles rimless 120gal with 0.75" thick starphire glass, it looks good but just want to know how long the silicone will hold up.

Precko first, beutifull tank, second how do you like your KZ CA reactor.

Thanks guys.

I haven't actually got the CA reactor set up yet. At the minute I only have smallish frags in the tank so I am not using up too much Calcium, 15% weekly water changes with RBS and the Kalk stirrer are keeping on top of it at the minute.

I do have a pink Stylophora colony and an Acropora Tenuis colony that I am picking up tomorrow so might look to get the reactor online this weekend.

Not many people seem to have this RX so its hard to find reviews on it, from what people who have it have told me it seems to be a good reactor, I will let you know my thoughts on it though once I have it running.

Here's a preview of my new Rimless 180G Tank being built.. Waiting for holes to be drilled and overflow box to be constructed... Can't wait. The dimensions are 48 X 36 X 24. It was built with .5 inch glass and braced with .5 inch square glass strips in each corner.. From the front and back, it looks like it was built with 1 inch glass panels... interesting.... I'm not an engineer... I just hope it works out well. I do trust the builder and it looks great in person... The tank has starphire in the front and right sides. If all goes well, I should have the tank by next week. More to come.
