Rimless Aquarium Club

Hey guys, I'll probably be ordering my rimless pretty soon and I have a couple questions.

Dimensions will be 48x30x22

I'd like to use the glass holes overflow. Would the 750 gph or the 1500gph overflow work better? Can Miracles integrate the glass holes overflow in their tanks? I'll be sending out my rfq to them pretty soon and would like to get everything down in the first email...or is it better to call them? Thanks.

Time to share; pics by iPhone so apologies in advance...

Don't mind the donuts in the tank. Im waiting on some corals and found the donuts are a good way to be able to move them around if they don't like the LEDs.

Are those captive bred donuts or wild-caught? I only sanction the use of propagated donuts for reefing purposes...

Dont know about them, but Reef Savvy can.

Most shops in asia use 12mm glass for 48X24X24" rimless tanks. If less then 24" high definately no problems.

A local glass tank builder told be with 1/2" glass and a 24" height at a 48" length will most like seperate the silicon on the seams... i'm wondering if this is true? i'm going to get a 20" tall done with the dimensions 48"x24"x20" with 1/2" glass... should i worry? i'm not worried about his quality but worried about the fact that he is right on a 24" height and he was iffy about the 20" height.. but i see so many of you with 24" rimless tanks so i'm wondering are they using thicker glass to prevent bowing?? also whats the longest anyone has had a tank with 24" height and a 48" length? i'm looking for experienced answers not guesses from someone thats never had a rimless of that size or larger..

How is the custom one different from the original glass-holes? Is it just a custom price? or are there design differences inside?

and you won't be disappointed with the quality of their tanks. Absolutely top notch. They even have an exclusive custom overflow box that is a collaboration between Reef Savvy and glass holes.

what leds are those?

what leds are those?

Like the LEDS looking to do something similar. What are you running? Thanks!

I think it's been 8 months since I posted in here, so here are some new pictures of my shallow rimless reef. It is 4'x2'x16" deep with LEDs. You can click on them for bigger versions.

Those are 2x Maxspect 110W G2 fixtures with 90* optics. The tank is 4'x2'x16". I have changed some of the LEDs to get a warmer color as well.

Your tank looks great and I like the color you have with your MaxSpects. I'm going to be replacing 3 whites with 3 Cree blues and the optics kit on my 160w.

Thanks. I don't have the 30W LEDs to contend with, but I removed 11 of the Cool White LEDs & the 4 Violet LEDs on each fixture, and replaced them with 7 Lux Rebel Neutral White, 4 Lux Rebel Blue, and 4 Lux Rebel Royal Blues.

The lights are hung about 7.5" above the tank.
