Rimless Aquarium Club

Hey guys I have a question for you. I'm thinking of going rimless and am wanting to put a mangrove that has been growing in a pot for a couple years now in the dt. My problem would be that I couldn't have a screen nor would I want one with it taking away the look of the rimless tank. My plan is to make it a full reef with darts and wrasse both love to jump. My question would be if I put a 3-4" euro race on the rimless tank do you think it would help with keeping the fish in? Thinking this would help keep some of the fish that have a tendency to ride the glass from surfing my carpet. What do you guys think? Any suggestions would be great.

Fish will find any small opening and get out. I had a rimless but made a screen for it in my cube. I now have a 250 that is euro braced and I put screens on it also. The screen will blend in if you choose silver frame and build it correctly. Not worth losing fish especially expensive fish.

Hi,

I am looking at getting a rimless aquarium, with the dimensions of 48L X 24W X 24H

However I can only afford 12mm glass, thus my fear over height, would 20 to 22 okay?.

What is the max height I can go for while still staying in a reasonable safety range. The tank will have bottom braces.

Thanks

I will most likely go for a design like this.

Some beautiful tanks folks.
I have officially joined the club, have a new 93 rimless/frameless coming.
Only equipment I have so far is a Lumenbright large with a selectable 250/400 ballast.
Now, where to put it...

Rimless glass thickness...

Rimless glass thickness...

Here's another rimless question...

I'm building a glass rimless tank 42Lx13Wx15H. All the info i found suggests 1/4" or 6mm glass. The glass I received only measures 5.5mm, is this going to be a problem or do you think it'll be ok.

Thx

Here is my addition to rimless club :)
It's 130cm x 60cm x 55cm with external overflow, euro braced bottom, 12mm glass, front and sides are optiwhite

It's been setup for about a month and half so it's low on livestock.

You should support the entire bottom of a rimless with a very dense foam or rubber.

Unless it's designed with a cushioned bottom panel.

I would put the light over the tank, how is the build going? Nice tank, that tank is my second favorite size my favorite is the 36 x30 tank.
