Rimless glass tank

I am getting back into reeling and looking into getting a rimless glass tank. I have done some research. I got quotes from reef savvy, glass cage and coast to coast. I am looking at about 160 gallon. They quoted the price at about 3500 without shipping and crate cost. I live in Washington state and one quoted me 1500 for shipping. Are there any reputable tank builders as good as reef savy on the west coast?

You can get a very nice quality tank built from Visio. Reef savvy is top top top notch with phantom bottoms and such but a Visio with a reef savvy ghost overflow would be great. Specify show quality beveled edges and you're good to go. Specify half inch glass as well maybe 5/8" depending on how big the tank is. Stay away from glass cages.

I would highly recommend that you look into an Elos tank. I may be biased, since I own a few of them, but they are well built and beautiful. You can check out their Diamond Line.

Their system 160 is over $6,000. Felix builds better tanks than elos. You could get a large rimless with phantom bottom, armoured seems, ghost overflow etc. Elos tanks are great but Felix is better. Reef savvy all day over elos

I love the tanks. They priced it at mid 3000 not including shipping. I am sill waiting for a quote on shipping cost. I live in Washington state so shipping cost is going to be a big factor

I'm telling you the guys at visio are superb builders. You just don't get the bells and whistles like you do with reef savvy. No phantom bottom and such. Their edges and silicone work is up to par though for certain and they're based outta Cali. If you can flip the reef savvy coin I would but I'm getting another visio soon.

That is for the system. If you just get the tank, it is much cheaper. Have you priced the Elos 160 tank only? Since I have never owned a Reef Savvy aquarium, I can't give any opinion. I have owned an Elos 120XL for seven years, and a Elos 100 for two years. I would highly recommend them to anyone who asks my opinion. Now, I am waiting shipment on my 160XL to replace my 120XL.

Does Elso sell just the tank without the standard are there any US retailers?

You can buy the tank only if you choose. Unfortunately, since Elos USA closed up shop, Elos customer service has been very poor in the US. You can visit Elos AquaStudio in the New York/New Jersey area to see the tanks in person (If you are ever traveling in that area). Also, I believe that Aquarium Specialty can get the tank for you as well.

I got a custom tank built and got quotes from most of the big names. I settled on Miracles. Top notch builder and was quite a bit less than the other big names. A 4x2x2 external overflow rimless with 3/4" glass (make sure quotes use same glass thickness!) - front and sides starfire, rear panel with external overflow is tempered - was around 2k. Shipping to Iowa was $500.

I cannot find a website that would sells the Elso tank by itself.

All of the websites will list them as a complete system, but if you contact them, they will quote you a price for just the tank. If you are looking for a specific dimension, that would be a custom tank and will be substantially more. If you pick any of their standard tanks, such as the Elos 160 or 160XL, the price will be much less, and the turnaround time will be much faster.

I am going to contact them and wait to here back from reef savy. Does anyone know if anyone carries reef savy tanks?

As far as I know they're in shops around Florida. I seen a couple reef savvy tanks when I went to Miami a couple years ago. Other than that. .. nope. Built to order with a 6 month lead time.
