Rimless - Zen/Bonsai 5-Gallon Setup?

I was thinking about your tank not to long ago. It would seem that it is doing very well. You are an awsome job IMO on the tank.

I also have the edge tank. We run it as a fresh water setup, so we didn't upgrade the lighting any. Ours with the stock lighting is really easy keeping the glass clean. IMO the biggest problem is the bubbles. We do bring on a lot of our own issues with this as we have a frog in there.

Wonderful tank!!!

where do you get the mini carpets from??? absolutely beautiful little guys i have seen only 1 other tank with a few. If you dont mind could you please send me a pm for a place i can possibly purchase or get more info on them from.

thanks

I got mine from a local hobbyist - they are quite hard to find for some reason, but not that hard to keep.

Not sure if anyone told you what kinda of algae you have, but the one circled in red is Sargassum filipendula and the one circled in blue is Scroll Algae (Padina sanctae crucis).

I love your tank! Followed your thread and I admire your approach to the design/husbandry of the hobby. Also, your planted tanks have inspired me to start one once I move, so beautiful and tranquil.

Thanks. I would like to swap the glass out with a new ADA Mini-M (low-lead glass), but worry that might be A LOT more hassle than it is worth.

I am going to add some bam bam orange zoas tonight...

i also noticed a strange looking colony of something in the back of the tank, under the monti caps. upon further inspection (what was really just sticking my had behind the tank and taking some pictures to examine) i believe the mystery coral is infact a small piece of my purple gorgonia that used to be over here... i wasn't expecting it to start as a little ball like this... who knew?

Awesome tank still I know what you mean about the noise that the only thing Ihate about my tank is at night you can hear the hummmm of the pumps.

Another first (for me) tonight... the Mini Carpet Nem I posted photos of last night, decided that the top could no longer stand the bottom and they decided to split ways with no provocation on my part, and in a perfect spot for some quick photos.

First I thought it was odd that I had this little guy out of the blue:

Then I realized that the other half was down here:

Here they are about 3 inches apart:

When the Vortech slowed down a little I got a few shots of the split - which looks like it was right in the middle of the mouth:

After years of keeping freshwater tanks I inherited a fish only saltwater tank back in December 2008. That made me start thinking about building a reef. I've now been in research mode for over ten months.

I've just read this entire thread through and I'm very inspired. My build starts next weekend. Thank you.
