i was given a rio 2500. i have had it in my tank just blowing a lil water around.... i took it apart, and it has a nw impeller. so i angled it to where air could get into the inlet, and it blew a huge cloud of fine bubbles.. anyone else seen these? i know rio is garbage, but hey a free nw pump...

they're garbage pumps, but they have a large volute and can work very well. I built a nice DIY skimmer using a DIY NW on a 2500 for a friend and it worked very well.

thats the problem though... i dont have the volute, or anything else.. just the pump... anybody know where to get these fittings?

Don't rely on these pumps. They quit at the most inopertune times. Had one that came with the tank, not any more. Just my .02 worth.

Rio has the 2500 in a needlewheel? My 2500+ had "flippy paddles" on the end but not a NW.

Got a link to the NW pump?

i dont want it to depend on, i just want to play with it. check how well it runs a turboflotor i have in the garage with no pump. and maybe see if it works as well as the pumps on the aquaeuro classic 400
can somebody hellp me find the volute/intake venturi? can somebody sell me one that will work?

i use a 2100 for my return right now ... 8 mo and still kicking

i am upgraging soon tho ....
