Risbecia pulchella Nudibranch

Do Not Do it! DON'T DO IT! they have short lives and thier diets are varried and difficult to handle in captivity, recipe for disaster I tell ya, You can however go with berghia nudis if you can aptasia in large numbers, or letuce nudis if you have any sort of filimentous algea.

*sigh* When are people going to learn that you should NEVER keep nudibranchs in an aquarium?!

Keeping ANY nudibranch except Berghia verrucicornis/Aeolidella stephanieae in captivity is a really, really bad idea. Why? 1) It's going to starve to death. You are dooming a beautiful wild animal to die horribly. All nudibranchs have extremely specialized diets that are impossible to provide. They don't eat fish food of any type. 2) They are all extremely poisonous and can take down your entire system.

Please refer to this section of the Sea Slug Forum. READ CAREFULLY before you put anything in your tank! Never never never accept an animal without knowing what it eats, whether it's poisonous, and whether you can reasonably care for it. It's so wrong to take animals out of the wild and then kill them.

That said, if you want to have a nudibranch, consider Berghia verrucicornis/Aeolidella stephanieae - they eat ONLY Aiptaisia pulchella anemones, which you can pretty easily culture. Only problem is that they need a lot of Aiptaisias - one adult Berghia needs to eat 1-3 Aiptaisias per day. This species is captive bred and is basically the only nudibranch that can be maintained in captivity, provided you have enough Aiptaisias.
