ritteri on back glass wall

is it ok for a ritteri to be on a glass wall? Should i move it back to the live rock?

i there a way to keep it in a set place or do they keep moving until they find a position they like?

Best answer most always-leave it alone. If it is marching towards a pump or something that will kill it- then do something. No need to hassle it because it is not where you like it. It will find a place once it aclimates, and if it is still not a good choice for you- you can change flow etc to encourage it to move. But with a new nem I alwyas say- hands off.

+1 keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get to close to a pump. I suggest turning off the pump if you have one that is near to it.

What size tank?
What lights do you have?

This is common with Mags when they aren't getting enough light, and/or can "feel" a way to be higher up.

It's going to go where it wants but you can influence its decision by powerhead placement and light intensities(if available).

My mag went for a walk around the tank when I removed its vortech for cleaning and put it back in the "wrong" spot. I have an Illumina over the tank which allows me to control where the tank is illuminated and how intense. Took about two weeks of light adjustments and powerhead positioning and it is now back where I want it.

Ritteri like to be as high as they can be. Your best bet is to make a pinnacle with a flat top that is away from the glass. They also like good water flow. Surge of some sort is best.
Being on the glass is not bad for the anemone, it just isn't always attractive to look at that way. Like others said, make sure it can't get to a powerhead.

If you are gentle, there is no reason you can't peel it off the glass and move it back to the rocks, but if you put it down low, its going to migrate back up again.

i moved him to the top of the rock work. i have 2 250's DE, but will be switching to leds next week. Was hoping to keep him low close to m bta,'s but he had different plans. hopefully the new location he'll like. i credit carded him off the back instead of peeling since i didn't want to tear his foot.
