Can the rkl be used like a wave maker or do you have to buy a wave maker separate.

I have some k 3s i would be running

The K3s make a loud knocking sound when you constantly turn them on and off. You could put a piece of tubing around the shaft to keep it from knocking around. You would just need to program them as WMs and set the times for them.
