I purchased the 8800 from a guy on ebay "fixurwater". It was $89 for the same one that Drs.Fostersmith sell for $230!

From what I understand, they make a serious difference if you have a well. Where I've been living in waterville, my water pressure is 95psi(!). That makes the good water stream out of my RO filter. The house I just purchased has a private well, so I decided to take the step and buy one. I don't think I can go back to 35psi after being spoiled for so long.

Just as a comparison, we had <30psi when we lived in Augusta, and it took almost 8 hours to make 5 gallons of RO water. Here in waterville, with a pressure of 95psi, I can make 5 gallons of ro/di in 1.5 hours.

Much less waste. That's always good. After searching and reading thread after thread about the aquatec 8800, I'm convinced that I should be very pleased with it's performance once I get it set up (later today!)
