I got new membranes for my RO and tested the water in a glass and it is 000. The water is going into a plastic 55 gal drum and after sitting in the drum it is reading 056. What can I clean the drum with or should I get new containers?

That is a good thought the drum came with my 460 set up when I bought it. The brute reading I would be happy with. Thanks for your thoughts. I still want to know if there is anything that I can clean it with.

Vinegar to clean.

I get 0 out of the unit and 0.7 in the reservoir (Rubbermaid style bin). Of course my inline tds meter (0 out of the unit) doesn’t read as low as my handheld (.7 in the reservoir).

i say we both play hookie from work tues , drag that thing up from that basement aqua world of yours , and blast the **** out of it with your power washer scrub it down with a good stiff new brush and vinegar , thats about all i can see doing with it , other than just flat out replacing it buddy ,,,

while some think this is taboo, I have always had good luck with Dawn dish soap, and/or simple green. Both are biodegradable and rinse complete. Having a 'soap" to cut the grime helps in my opinion. Of course rinsing completely is a must. I have a 100 gallon resevoir that I clean twice a year and have never had an issue.

Good Luck....................................

The vinegar, then dawn and a good power wash has kept the 55 gal at 000 this morning. Thanks for all your help!! Now it is time for some big time water changes.
