well I accidentally knocked over my RO unit and cracked the glass on the pressure gauge, before I ever even set it up :( does this affect the pressure guage in anyway?

thanks
Andrew

no, i dont think it doe,s it is the pressure behind the needle, ntot eh glass, but i may be wrong...and im sorry to hear that man, that sucks, i wuold hate it if that happens (great, i just jynxed myself...)

I kind of figured the pressure would be behind the glass but just wanting to make sure I wasn't going to get bad readings or something, thanks seth, if we are wrong someone please let me know :)

Yeah, with stuff like that the pressure is in the fitting, the glass is to protect the needle. Unless the needle is being restricted in its movement it should read fine. Watch U571 again (or any "underwater movie") where they start taking on water and then the gauges crack and spray water....REALLY annoying.

Pressure gauges are not that expensive, you can get a new one for about $12.00 at your hardware store, just insure it is for 0 to 100 psi range.
