Ro/di filter

I am kinda new to this and yes I did a search and read.

But my LFS said I only need a RO unit not RO/di. And all the posts here talk mostly about ro/di

So do I need ro/di. Can I buy just ro? Or buy ro and a cheap $10 di inline filter lol.

I would be safe and get the RO/DI filter. The RO filter will allow some pollutants to get past it.

I wouldn't buy it. The description doesn't even detail the brand or type of filters used.

You need an RO/DI unit, and realistically for $30 more than the one you found, you can have a really good unit you can trust.

IMO don't take the cheap route with your water unit, lighting or pump.

For $130 you can get a refurbished spectrapure 90gpd on their website. I dont have one now, but im saving for one. Best part is it's like new

I would absolutely get the Typhoon 5. Its a very good unit for a very reasonable price.

All three of the links show 4 stage filtration. Maybe I'm missing something. An extra stage would be better. The one I showed you has larger filters. They would give you more life.

My unit came as a four unit. The RO Membrane, Carbon block, and the two different filters. I purchased a DI resin chamber and some extra hosing and adapters. My TDS would always be 3-7 ppm and after the installation of the chamber, Its down to 0. Definitely invest in a 5 stage or get a 4 and purchase the di chamber. They sell them pre filled or you can buy the chamber and resin on ebay. I change the resin once it turns brown which indicates it is depleted.

I purchased a 90gpd spectra pure ro/di over 10 years ago and never had a problem with it....IMO they are the best! If I were you I would save and get a spectrapure you will be happier in the long run..also they have refurbished units on sale right now!

Found out I have 44psi out the faucet. So should I get a pump to make it work better? Or leave it and just deal with slower output volume?

I got a pump off eBay for about 100 bucks....I would say get the r/o di first see how u like it then decide if u want the pump.... The pump makes the rodi work better
