The RO flush kit works by bypassing the flow restrictor on the membrane so as to flush the nasties that build up on and around the outside of the membrane down the drain.
There are generally two ways to do it : T-fittings/mini ball value or an integrated restrictor/ballvalve.
Shouldn't cost you more than $10 to $20 for one and should extend the life of your membrane by keeping the outside less clogged.
