RO/DI Fountainhead Sytems

I just bought and installed the 100gpd, 4 stage ro/di system from Fountainhead Systems. Unfortunately, it came with no installation instruction, neither any on their website. There is some basic video of a similar ro/di system by another company on their website, but pretty basic.

Anyway, after installation, I ran it for an hour, just to flush the system. However, when I test the tds, it is actually higher than the incoming water @ 56ppm.

The only thing I can think of is a defective filter. Does anyone here have any experience with this sort of thing?

You could have the good and waste water lines mixed up. Expect the waste water to be about 125% of what your feed water is

Okay, now that's fixed. Thanks Fountainhead for zero service!

However, now my 100 gdp system runs at a slower get trickle, most likely around 1 gdp.

you have 1 membrane or 2 on that system? but I am guessing low water pressure also which you will have to buy seperatly as that unit don't come with one. you will wanna buy a TDS meter also so you can tell when your filters start to go bad.

I would not hook up the rodi directly to the sump, if your float valve or switch ever fails youll turn your sw tank into a fw tank

Oh... But how do people make an auto top-up system then?

I would have thought that's the way to do it.

Use a 5 gal bucket or smaller container to sit under or beside the sump and have a small pump, pump water into the sump when your ato goes on. This way if your float switch fails then only the water in the ato container will pump into the tank and not any more.

Also a rodi unit shouldnt be tunerned on and off as much when hooked up directly to a ato or you will burn through the di very fast.
