im looking for a ro/di unit for my reef tanks i have a 20g 125g and 120g mixed reefs what would be the best setup to supply those three tanks, we use about 5 gallons a day due to evaporation
I purchased a BRS 5 stage RO/DI system about 1.5 months ago and absolutely love it. Easy to set up and came with all the necessary attachments. I have a 133gallon aquarium so i'm sure it would work great with the tank size you are talking about. I don't have any other experience with other types of RO/DI units.
PM a couple of te sponsors on here. They all have options that will fit your needs. 75 gal per day membranes have the best rejection rate so they are said to be the most economical and efficient if that helps. BRS has some decent deals as does air, water ice. It's up to you and how much you want to spend. I have a 100GPD water general from EBay and love it has worked great for over a year. I will be ordering my cartridges from BRS most likely when replacement comes back up though. I have only changed out the sediment once so far and last stage of DI is about half way done so I'm looking into it now. That's after prob 5-600 gals of 0TDS
Also look into your container for it and an auto shut off float you won't have to wait around for it it will always be ready or stop at set amount. As stated earlier you can get one with a TDS meter or buy one online. I have a dual hooked inline and can verify with my Hanna multi pen I use for PH.
