RO/DI installation ?'s

Well Santa brought me a Reef Keeper Typhoon III for Christmas and I had a couple of questions about where everybody has hooked up their ro/di unit and what they store their water in.

I was wanting to put it under my kitchen sink but my disposal is kind of in the way and it seems like a pain to run the hose out from under the sink to fill stuff up. My ideal place to hook it up would be the garage but the only water line in there are the lines going into the water heater and I am not sure which line is the water in line.

I would like to get some food grade plastic drums for water storage as I am not a big fan of the Brute trash can. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to post:beer:

I have the same unit and mine is under the sink. I only make water once every month or so, so having the water line out for an afternoon is no big deal. I store water in 5g watertainers.

If you run hot water for a minute or two and then touch the pipes you will know which is which. If you decide on the garage remember you have to drain the waste water somewhere. This would be my choice because I use a float valve and can let it run while I am not home. I tended to get busy and forget to turn it off before.
