Ro/DI Issue

So I have a 75 GPD Ro unit and I cannot figure out the two lines that come off of the membrane. One drips out very slowly and it literally would take two weeks to fill the 30 gallon container, while the other one flies out and fills it within a hour. Anybody have any suggestion here? My TDS is 0 either way I go but I have a slight algea problem in the tank that I am contributing to the system. I am frustrated and ready to rip it off the wall!! Can anybody tell if this is hooked up wrong? The blue hose in the first pic is coming from the water pipe....Thanks

It's 75GPD not 75GPH. That rate is under ideal conditions which I understand to be like 60-80psi and 80 deg water temp. Anything less than that will affect the output of your membrane. I have a 75GPD unit but my water pressure is never more than 40psi and temp is around 52 deg so I get no where near 75GPD.

Sorry ya 75 GPD. So what are my other options really, my tank evaporates more than I could even make in a day not to mention having to make water to use for salt mix, I do get close to 60 PSI but ya the temp is 55
 
Are you on well water or city?

If your pressure is low try adding a booster pump. If the temp is low you can take a coil of water line, coil it in a bucket filled with water and a heater. This will hear the input water and increase production.

My pressure is 50PSI + but yes Chicago burbs
 
It sounds like something else is wrong with your unit. You most likely have a clog somewhere if you're only getting 1-2 GPD out of a 75GPD unit, or your water pressure is very low. How are you checking pressure, is it with a gauge in the RO unit? If both RO and waste output are reading 0 TDS, your TDS meter is broken. TDS on waste should not be lower than input water.

Even my old 50 GPD unit would do ~25 per day with 40*F water.
 
I can't tell from the picture, but if you have a flush valve, make sure it is closed. If the waste line fills 30 gallons in an hour, I would think the flush valve is wide open.

Even when the waste line is closed the good water barely drips out.
My TDS meter reads 0 when I put new resin in no matter which way I have the
Waste water and good water lines....it's very confusing to me,
I would think the waste water wouldn't be 0. I think when I bought the unit the lines weren't correct....I guess I will try to replace all the hose and see if there was a clog somewhere
 
Do you have DI resin before the RO membrane? If so, that's why everything is reading zero. You should put the DI after the RO membrane, otherwise you'll use the resin up VERY quickly, and waste a ton of money in the process.
 
The waste line needs to be flow restricted. Sell them at BRS! I used a valve that I closed mostly at first.

Of course if it goes in the DI resin its going to be zero. Check TDS without DI resin. I get 6 TDS out of my filters and membrane.

The resin is after the membrane. I have a shut off on the waste that I use and it doesnt change the flow when closed....So agitated on this one, ready to scrap it and buy a new unit
 
it prob. won't be the cause of your TDS reading but because of the diffrent membrane from the flow restrictor it is prob. making it so your membrane isn't performing as well as it can.
