Bought Ocean -REEF + 1 from Filter guys. The TDS reading after RO water kept dropping until 0. Any one had similar experience?

I am really supprise or can't believe the water after RO unit is Zero ppm. I should test the tap water, but there is no adapter to connect the meter to tap water line:(

BTW, I am in California east bay are, is anyone else in this area and know what the quality of the tap water is?

I live in staten island ny TDS tap water reading is 28 ppm.

I bought an RO/DI but it was a waste because it comes out 0 TDS after RO..

If your TDS is exceptionally low, then RO can filter it to 0

Sounds like you have an inline TDS meter and they are not real accurate since they are not temperature compensated. Try borrowing a handheld meter to check it against.
Inlines actually sense air temperature and not water temperature so the readings can be significantly off unless the air and water temperatures are exactly the same. Look at the probes, see the fatter part, there is a small rectangular hole in the side of the after part. Inside that hole is the temp probe so it is not exposed to water but air.

DI is never a waste, there are things that do not measure well even with a TDS meter due to being weakly charged or ionized. These include silicates and phosphates. You can have an indicated 0 but still have phosphates.
