ro/di operation

so i just got my 100gpd ro/di unit from melevsreef mount and plumbed in today. i would highly recommend this unit. it only does 75 gpd at the temp i was running so i might run the inlet tube through a 5 gallon bucket of heated water. i ran my 5 or 10 gallons oto get all the yuck water out and then started using it.

i just have a couple of questions. when i am done making water, what do i shut off, the inlet, outlet, waste outlet, etc? all of them, some of them, or in what combination?

Just turn off the cold water that you are feeding into the system. That should take care of it.

Insted of putting your intake water line in warm water you could try mixing the hot and cold to make it "luke" warm.

I just start the hot tap side (maybe 1/4 of the way on) and then on the cold, I run it full open.....................

jj, I would go with your approach. Using hot water from the tap may not be the best approach as this heated water generally carries/pulls more contaminants (metals) from the metal water pipe which may shorten the life of the membrane (along with your sediment filter and carbon filter cartridges).
