RO/DI Question

Iam about to purchase an Aqua Safe RO/DI unit that another reefer on here posted a link to. My question is do i need to get the unit with a pressure tank being that i will not have a trash can or any other storage container to hold my water? Its rated @ 100gpd I think that will be fine for topoffs. & also do i need to purchase their TDS & PSI meter @ this time? Thanks in advance..

The point of the storage container is to have RO/DI water ready at hand, most units produce water at a very slow rate. So no, a tank is not required but can make things more efficient.

I strongly recommend a TDS meter since it lets you know how your water is doing. There is no requirement that you get theirs however, a TDS meter is a TDS meter...

What I used to do is just fill up 3 gallon jugs straight from the RO/DI (careful it doesn't overflow, or do it in the sink) and use that as top off. It got the job done...

I don't use a pressure tank on mine, just a food grade 55 gallon plastic drum with a float valve mounted in the side.
I would recomend going with the 75 GPD model over the 100 GPD, it has a better rejection rate, TDS meter is a must, the pressure guage can be added later, you can get them for about $15

Thanks again guys,Yeah the price difference between the the one with & without the storage tank is about 6 bucks...... Not bad at all for water storage. My 80 gal evaperates @ a rate about 1 gal a day will this keep up?

If the difference is only $6, I'd see no reason not to get it. It'll pay for itself in the time and convenience saved.

It only wholes about 2 1/2 gallons, but for $6.00 dollars YES.
20 gallon "Food Grade" rubbermaide and float is the way to go.
