I have a 3 yr old spectrapure ro/di system.
I have replaced the sedement, carbon and di at least 1 or 2 times. now after flushing the membranes (2 90 gpd) I still have crappy tds.
in 120 out 110 been lazy and havent looked for a while.

do you think its cheaper to buy a complete new unit with a granulated carbon filter also or buy new parts and add a granulated section.
from spectrapure the membranes are 100 ea. di is 35 and 10-20 for the carbon and sediments. I know localy I should be able to get some of the stuff cheaper but what is every ones opinions

I use 4 gal a day in my 92 gal main tank and 7 every 2 or 3 days in my 29
hoping to change to a 120 soon and combine both tanks
dont have the money to build the tank I want a 5'L x 3'W x 2'H tank

just moved the tds meter so monitors in and out after ro not after rodi maybe a 5-10 tds difference from in to out of ro... (guess membranes are shot)

I bought a cheapy 6 stage RO/DI on Ebay a couple of years ago and rather than replacing everything, I bought another a few month back. Cost me $ 105.00 or so incl shipping from Canada.

And we have 450 TDS going in and 10 coming out! (Well Water).

I also have an old spectrapure, this are your options, if you buy the replacement parts from spectrapure it will be more expensive than to get a brand new unit from either "the filter guys" or "ice water and air" however if you replace the ro membrane from one of the providers metioned before you will save some money, you can't go wrong.
These are the links to both companies, I think they are both great

i know of two places that sell cheep ro/di's localy (119-130 for 3 stage ) and 150 or so i think for the 75 gpd

both of them will be at the frag swap and i know one is bringing the units. the other is sponsoring the swap ( not posting names because i dont want ot get yelled at by a mod O_O
