RO/DI Reservior and top-off questions...

So I went to the hardware store and bought 40ft of tubing to run from my RO/DI to my display. My RO/DI unit is in my garage. I've had it set up so that the "bad" water goes into my washing machine (yeah - I'm a penny pincher sometimes) - and the filtered water would go into a 30gallon rubbermaid tub. I've got some 55 gallon plastic drums that have only had either soy sauce, vinegar, or mustard in them. I ran the RO/DI line from my garage, through my kitchen, and around the dining room into my display. Since I wasn't going to be THAT much laundry :bum: , I ran the "bad" water line down the same tube that the washing machine output goes in.
With this ghetto setup working well, I got to thinking about auto top off...

Forgive my crude drawing, but it'd taken me the time it took to freehand the whole thing just to draw one of those drums if I used PAINT or a CAD program :bum:

The water would go from the RO/DI into one drum where it could be drained into a second drum for mixing saltwater. I could get the saltwater out using a spigot. What would I use to go OUT of my RO/DI drum to go to my display? I think it'd be nice if I could just walk to my tank and turn a valve for a line that runs from my RO/DI drum until my tank is topped off.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to do Auto-Top off, but I have my reservations about trusting switches that control water levels in my tank... :smokin:

BTW, I'd be willing to part with an empty 55 gallon drum to anyone who'd swing by and help me try to accomplish what I'm talking about above... I just need another head for this project - and my best buddy is a homebody AND lazy so, I turn to you all! LoL

1st is this on the same level in your house as the tank?
If so: As long as the pipe in your tank is lower than the waterlevel in the ro tub gravity should do its thing. You could even put a ball valve at the sump and just turn it on. Or you could use a pump wired all the way back to your tank and use one of your switches. I do not know how far you have to go but you could modify a long extension cord to run to a mag or other pump.

Pm me when you will be home of a morning and I would be glad to come by and take a look at it.
