I'm planning out my RO/DI system, which will feed a reservoir in the basement below my tank. My plan is as follows:
water line --> sprinkler valve --> booster pump --> RO/DI --> reservoir
The reservoir will have two float switches (one above the other for redundancy) wired in series with the sprinkler valve. The sprinkler valve will also be wired back to my sprinkler controller, to allow the system to run a max of xx hours every xx days (preventing many short runs and controlling flooding in the event of a problem.)
So, when the sprinkler valve turns out, assuming the water level is low enough in the reservoir, the system will fill until the float switch opens the circuit, or until the time period is up.
For float switches, I'm thinking of using something like 46515K41 at McMaster-Carr. (Polypro Horizontal-Mount Liquid-Level Switch Low-Amp, 1/2" X 1/2" NPT Male, 100 Max PSI)
Does this make sense?
