RO/DI Unit Waste water recyled

Do see any issues with teeing off the waste line and having some of that water teed back into the feed line into the RO/DI unit?

My unit has a 4 to 1 ratio. I can't image that waste water, is actual all waste. Part of it has to excess related to water pressure into unit.

Unit is a Maxcap Spectrapure
Water PSI is 60
Water temp is approx 50 degrees.

if you do that your then increasing your TDS entering the membrane, thus shortening the life of it RO.

the easiest thing to do would be to get a second membrane and piggy back it off the waste line of the first one.

personally I just use the waste water to water plants and fill the washing machine.

I run a Ocean Reef Miser from "The Filter Guys" (a sponsor here)

http://www.thefilterguys.biz/water_saver_ro_di.htm

It runs at about a 2 to 1 ratio instead of the normal 4 to 1
(about half as much waste), plus makes 150 GPD.

You may ba able to add their "Dual Membrane conversion kit"
to your unit to cut down on your waste.

Here is a picture of my unit:

I added a second meter and an Auto flush timer valve to automatically flush the membranes.

I wouldn't mess with the 4:1 ratio... it's there to minimize stress on the membrane. Recycling waste water may lessen water lost down the drain, but won't do anything to speed up pure production.

Water's a relatively inexpensive utility, too :)

Ender G60 is correct, you would just be concentrating TDS and other things you didn't want in your water to begin with, thus making your system work harder and shortening the life on cartridges.
