Well there was no intrest in the kati ani trade so I think I am going to purchase a RO/DI from Buckeye Field Supply I have a couple questions first... How many gallons per day unit do I need? (75 gal and a 40 gal tank) Will I need a pump to assist if I have low water pressure at the tap? (thanks to the water authority)

Low water pressure at the tap can be due to the faucet itself. Some are made that way to conserve water. I have well water so I required the booster. I have a bulk reef supply 75gpd stage 5 system which is used on a 120 gal reef with a 40 breeder sump in addition to a 90 gal discus tank. I think my booster ran around $120.

how pressure are you getting ? did you mention it your water provider sometimes they can do something so you don't need a booster pump.

I haven't checked the pressure yet... but I know its low. I will have to check. How much do I need in order not to need a booster pump? Also if I only have the 75 and a 40 I should only need a 50 gpd?

Turn your water meter screw and it will give u more pressure I would buy the biggest unit u can. It will take u less time to make the water u want. My 150gph system requires 40 to 80 psi. I was told by spectra pure that about 60psi is optimal to performance.

I also had a spectrapure until recently. I was fortunate that the water pressure in my apartment was dead on @ 60 psi right out of the cold water line. I just plumbed a valve adapter under my bathroom sink before the faucet and just switched when i wanted the water on/off.

Just to offer a different opinion, I actually prefer the 24 gpd membranes. If the float switch in my water change container or topoff container fails I have less of a mess on my floor.
