Ro/di ?

How high do you let your TDS get before you change out your filters? I have new filters ready to go, I just tested my TDS and I'm getting 5. Would you change them now or wait a bit?

so the sediment and carbon doesn't need to be changed each time the TDS gets above 1 or 2? I have a 10 micron sediment, 5 micron carbon and then 1 micron carbon and then the DI. I've changed them all and make aprox. 60 gallons of water a month. My TDS is 155 coming out of the faucet.
Can anyone estimate how long these filters should last?

Well, My TDS is 278 from the faucet so I feel, Changing all of the filters helps keep the DI membrane in good condition.

The life span depends how much water you make. I make about 150g a month so I change them about every 6 months, give or take a month.

You'll save money using a dual inline TDS meter. Call Randal or Rod. I have one meter placed right before and one right after the DI. If my TDS gets above 10 before the DI, I change the charcoal. If it gets above 10 after the DI, I change the DI. A TDS of 10 maybe high for some sensative SPS but most reefers I have asked have had fine success with these levels.

I would say that is depends entirely on what the 10 ppm TDS consists of. If your feed water contains lots of phosphates or iron and that is what is getting through your RO and not being removed by your DI, you are asking for trouble over the long term.

I can't figure it out. Chaged all of my filters yesterday and I'm getting a 5 TDS reading. Membrane is less than 6 months old.
