RO/DO filters and resin

Is there any place local to get replacement filters and DI resin or should I just buy online from BRS or Buckeye? I have the refillable DI cartridge and just need the resin. Just wanted to check before I ordered.

I would get it from buckeye.

If you place an order let me know, I need a few things from them.

I have extra filters ( bought a case with original purchase) , but need resin as well. I assume that they are all a standard filter size and are interchangeable. I will take inventory as to which filters I have extra tonight.

Excellent! Either will work. I don't pay much attention to the color changing, just go off of tds meter. Are you still recharging it? I can bring my exhausted resin over your place after I switch out.

I am in the market for filters for my 5 stage was going to order from thefilterguys until shipping was 12.00 for 3 filters.

I also have a bit of color change DI

Actually, Air Water Ice contacted the club a week or so ago about being a sponsor and offered 10% discounts on purchases and 20% off on group orders.

The pricing doesnt seem to bad, shipping is about the same as most 10.00 for 3 filters

If we get a few people to go in on the order we should be able to save on shipping too.

That should be worth it for the group buy discount.

I have another question. What micron(10,5,1) does everyone use for their A) sediment filter and B) carbon block filters in their units?

Thanks

I use THIS from air water and ice.
It's 10, 5, 1..............75 gpd membrane and refillable DI.........I get 0 TDS with my crappy water. It starts at 230-240 TDS.

well my tds is 13 - boo... so I would be interested in getting some resin BUCK - prefer the color changing type as I am "Lazy" - since i had no idea that my system was producing a 13 - and yep I have some red slime and hair algae blooming for the first time in years.

Let me know how much.

I think the group buy has to be $2000 to get that discount.

I use 5 micron depth sediment filter, then 5 micron MATRIKX CTO/2 carbon block, then 0.6 micron MATRIKX+1 carbon block. The water goes through the membrane and has a TDS of 7 then goes to the DI and comes out pure zero TDS.

I use the 5 stage 75 GPD RO/DI from bulk reef supply.

I need new filters and DI in a few months. I heard the: 5 micron depth sediment filter, 5 micron MATRIKX CTO/2 carbon block, 0.6 micron MATRIKX+1 carbon block are the best to use.

I do need a 5 micron depth sediment filter now because I started making RO water in my 37 gallon container around 5:30pm the other day. Around 8:30 I was bathing the kids and noticed the water was brown. Then around 12:30am that night I went down to turn off the water because I forgot about it...My filter is black. Found out the next day there was a broken line on our street.... (water still had zero TDS)

i am almost the same as Tom except I start with a 1 micron (instead of 5 micron)sediment filter

I use 1 micron depth sediment filter, then 5 micron MATRIKX CTO/2 carbon block, then 0.6 micron MATRIKX+1 carbon block. The water goes through the membrane and has a TDS of 3 then goes to the DI and comes out pure zero TDS.

I also use the 5 stage 75 GPD RO/DI from bulk reef supply - which is where I also get my filters.

:eek2: WOW. Ray, you have the PMASI credit card don't you....

Thanks for the feedback. I want to add another stage to my filter. I will just use the two different carbon blocks. My tap water is 380 before filter. I get zero after DI.
