I have a strange problem that I can't figure out. Hope someone can help. I have an RO system (small pressure tank) that had been working fine. I just changed the pre-filters and the RO membrane filter. Now the waste drain keeps on draining. I tried the following in that order:
1. Shut off the tank valve (with source valve on). Draining stops. Should clear the ASO.
2. Shut off the source valve (with tank valve on). Draining stops. Should clear the check valve.
3. INTERESTING ONE. Removed the RO membrane filter... everything runs as it should. Draining stops as soon as the tank is full.
... put the RO membrane filter back.
4. Emptied the tank, make sure pressured to ~8 psi, refilled it. Draining still won't stop.
5. With a full tank, pressurized it to ~38 psi. Draining still won't stop.
The above tests should clear out the ASO, check valve, and tank pressure. I'm at a lost on what else might cause this. What else can I try before replacing everything.
