Hey every one i just joind this site and its amazing so much info! buttt i i couldnt find a solution to my problem so maby someone can help me. i just bought a new SpectraPure RO system and when i hooked it up the reject water tube is pouring out, like so much pressure the flow restrictor wont stay in, itjust shoots out.. and the good water is barly dripping out. is this normal or is there something wrong. I even followed the instructions which i normal dont do ahah. any help would be greatly apreciated!

Thanks yall

I would call spectrapure, they have great customer support. You can slightly crimp the discharge tube to keep the flow restrictor in place.

i thought thats how they worked.. they reject most of the water, and the clean water just drips out.. my waste water is a constant full stream that blows water out. i stick my waste water output in my sink drain, and my good water drips into my trash can..

I would pull membrane out and make sure it is seating right. Should be about 10/1 or so rule of thumb. With 10 down the drain.

no.. Not anywhere close to 10:1

You are looking for a 4:1 waste to product ratio at your avg incoming temperature and pressure. (in other words do not try to calibrate the flow restrictor on the colded week of the year).

I get more around a 6:1 in colorado, our water temps are probably cooler than most areas. 10:1 is broken IMO

Ok i figured it out i am getting a ratio of about 6:1. and as for the restrictor the end that i had it in seemed to be streched so i just used the other end. Works awsome now. Thanks everoyne!
