RO membrane gone bad?

Ok, so I need some help. I replaced my RO membrane, carbon filter and sediment prefilter on my Rodi in late June...it was a little over a year old at that time.
Since then, the dual inline Tds meter quit working (just says error) and since I'm getting ready to do a water change on my 90 gallon reef,I checked the container with a handheld Tds meter I have. It's reading 130!!! What!?!?
So, I check some distiller water...reads 0. Check my tap water (just for comparison) and it reads 300s.
Ok...guess its working...but what happened to my RO membrane?! The one that came with the unit lasted overa year and the Tds never went above 5 before I changed the DI resin....this one worked when I installed it and for at least a couple hundred gallons after...now it's trash.
Any ideas? I called and left a message with the company I bought both the unit and replacement from yesterday...they haven't called me back today yet. :-(
In the meantime, I got rodifrom my Lfs and mixed salt for tonight's water change.

you need to check the water directly from the DI line not from the container itself. DI water is like a magnet to dust and such and will raise your TDS readings but nothing to worry about as long as the water directly from the line reads 0.

you can also use a clean glass to pour the fresh DI water into and check.

Assuming you have an HM Digital DM1 inline TDS meter, the message code "ERR" indicates one of three issues:

1. The water is out of the range of the meter (0-9990 ppm).
2. The batteries are low.
3. The sensor plug has been loosened from the body of the meter
4. There is a problem with the meter

Surely No.1 isn't the case. So make sure No.3 isn't the case, and then think about changing the batteries.
