RO membrane

Anyone have about a 75 gpd membrane they would sell? Just thought I would ask before ordering online.

Did not change it yet, but I did go to Roy's and my little hand held meter is fairly accurate. So I am reading 13 currently on my system. I will change the DI resin tonight.

I have a 90 gpd you can have. It has about 1 month on it and I've tried to keep it moist since removing it.

what is your RO tds?

I am not sure Mark. I need an inline TDS meter. The 14 TDS is what I have coming out and I am sure that the membrane is old too.

14 coming out of your DI just sounds like bad DI resign. testing your TDS coming out of RODI only would let you know about your membrane. Mine is around 3 and 0 coming out of my DI.

I have 2 inline TDS meters one for Water in, RO out, DI first stage DI second stage.

14 is pretty high for bad resin, but if it were any other componant you would be looking at atleast 100. Your resin must be REALLY bad.

Most membranes I have gotten 5 yrs out of.

The membranes I have are about 4 years old now too. The key is protecting them with prefilters.

Usually the key is a two stage DI, and having 0 coming out of the second. 14 is not that unusual for bad DI if it has been ran alot.

I have a four-stage Ultimate DI from Spectrapure and test the conductivity after the third chamber which still gives me some grace. On top of that, I have TDS readings pre and post RO membrane and post DI.

Most of us are not that special

Well my membrane is two years old, and we don't have super great water here. I might could get a whole house filter, but that is in the future.

I will be thinking about that pre-filter though, or a second DI cartridge.

I did order a new membrane too.

I agree here. I change out my prefilter's 2 times a year. The micron filter goes the fastest. But I too run two DI chambers on my RO/DI unit. I find it cheaper to do this then replace 1 filter that cost more than the prefilter's. But I do NOT have a TDS meter either to check them I just change them. That and I buy the Nuclear grade color changing DI.

I just recently changed the poly and the carbon block on the unit. I am changing my DI resin today, and the RO membrane should be in next week I hope.

Plus I am picking up some backups from JX Metal for the next change over.
