i just installed a 5 stage ro system from filter guys, and only have 40 psi of presure.any ideas

I have a 3 stage system from coralife and have almost the same amount of psi because I live in a town house and the pressure is low and I cant get water through it so I don't use the membrane. I don't waste any water but yet I still don't have 0ppm. But I do keep up with everything so that nothing goes out of whack.

Try getting a pump for it. Not sure what brand you can use but they do make them.

an RO booster pump would increase the pressure. I do not speak from experience on using one. I've never needed one, but that is what they are for.

I'm not sure since I don't use one but I think that all it does is push the water through your system. I don't think that it will increase the amount of purified water. It will be the same amount of purified and waste water produced just like it would if it didn't have the pump on it.

Yes. your waste water will come out more then your purified.

It all depends on whether the membrane will operate properly at that pressure. Two things I'd do. First, contact the company & ask them. Second, check your tds.
