Im new to saltwater and still dont have my tank completely set up, still curing dry pukani. I wanted to know what the important differences between ro and ro/di are. Being in the north and having hard water (+20on the scale) we already rent a water softener and a ro unit for drinking water. Do i need to upgrade to a ro/di unit?

if curing rock, it should be done in ro/di or you'll be introducing junk into it via tap water ;)

RO/DI for the aquarium, but do not drink it, just drink the RO

Without a very through water annalisis it is impossible to say for sure, but very few of us have water pure enough not to need De-ionization filtration.

I ended up buying a BRS Single Di canister. Have it plumbed up and running. At 30gpd and only letting it run for the 10 hrs im at work i hope to have my 55gal holding barrel full by the end of the week.
