Sorry about that I was reading through the posts and realized I missed half of your question.

Aeration would be effective in removing the chlorine which would react to a gas but not so good with the ammonia as this is the reason it is added to the water in the first place.

Wow.. thanks for all the info.. I went down to our local water supply store..picked up a few fittings for our new loc line manifold.. I turned around and saw they had RO units on the wall there. I then asked about costs of them and then asked to jump the counter and show them the one on ebay we were looking at. They said it was a good deal and then I told them about all the extras that came with it... it became and very good deal to them so well.. We took the plunge and went with it.. the company is very close to us as well, which is nice if there is a problem that help is only a few miles away and then the price issue was a big plus as well. The unit looks like the same as the one we have at work with another companies name on it.. so I have high hopes that is will work as well as that one has for the past few years.

Thanks for the notes of chloramine / chlorine and ammonia (didnt know that).. great info. :) Its nice to think that this is sort of... hopefully..wink wink... the last piece of equipment we need to complete our system. It really should have been one of the first.
